Trip to El Bajío

This summer Eva and I took a trip to El Bajío, a region in central Mexico that includes some of the best the country has to offer. I’ve been a rather uninspired guest in the past, having visited mostly the resorts and beach cities and staying away from central Mexico except for a couple of trips.

Boy was that a mistake! Ironically, now that travel has become somewhat more dangerous due to a number of reasons, I began to enjoy it immensely. (Of course, more than anything else it has to do with my sweet and beautiful companion, but I guess something has changed inside me as well.)

Luckily, it’s a mistake I can still put right. It’s not too late until it’s too late, as they say, and so I decided I need to catch up with what I’ve been missing. Here are some pictures from that trip for you to enjoy! I dearly love and miss my native Russia, and it took me a while to become more receptive to Mexico’s charm, but the unmitigated beauty of this country has won my heart over.
